1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Pony Perfection website and services. By registering an account, submitting an entry, or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Definitions
- “Organiser” — Pony Perfection / United Equestrian Stables, the show organiser.
- “Rider” — the person entered to compete, including their parent or guardian if the rider is a minor.
- “Horse” — the equine participant entered in a class.
- “Entry” — a submission made via the online entry system.
- “Class” — a competitive division within a show (e.g. 40cm, 60cm, 80cm).
3. Entry Conditions
By submitting an entry, the rider confirms that:
- All information provided is accurate and complete.
- The horse is fit, sound, and suitably conditioned for the class entered.
- The rider wears appropriate safety headgear (ASTM/SEI or equivalent standard) at all times when mounted.
- The rider wears a properly fitted body protector in all cross-country or speed classes where required by the organiser.
- The rider is financially responsible for any damage caused to jumps, arenas, or property.
4. Payment
- Entry fees are payable as specified on the entry form.
- Payment may be made via PayFast (credit/debit card or EFT) or bank transfer as indicated.
- Entries are not confirmed until payment has been received in full.
- All fees are in South African Rand (ZAR).
5. Refunds & Cancellations
- Refunds are at the sole discretion of the organiser.
- No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than 7 days before the event date.
- If the show is cancelled by the organiser, a full refund of entry fees will be issued.
- Veterinary certificates may be required for withdrawal due to horse injury or illness.
6. Rider Conduct
All riders, owners, and attendants must:
- Adhere to the South African Equestrian Federation (SAEF) rules and guidelines.
- Treat officials, volunteers, and other competitors with respect.
- Not abuse horses physically or verbally.
- Comply with all arena and warm-up area rules.
- Follow the organiser’s instructions regarding parking, stabling, and venue access.
7. Liability
- Equestrian sports are inherently dangerous. Horses are unpredictable animals and accidents can occur.
- The rider participates entirely at their own risk.
- Pony Perfection, its owners, employees, volunteers, and officials accept no liability for any loss, damage, injury, or death arising from participation in any event, howsoever caused.
- It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate personal accident and public liability insurance.
8. Helmets & Safety Equipment
- Approved riding helmets (ASTM/SEI F1163, PAS 015, or VG1) must be worn and correctly fastened at all times when mounted anywhere on the venue grounds.
- Body protectors are strongly recommended for all classes and mandatory where specified.
- The organiser reserves the right to eliminate any rider not complying with safety equipment requirements.
9. Horse Welfare
- Horses must not be subjected to excessive use of whips or spurs.
- Any horse found to be lame, unfit, or otherwise unsuitable for competition may be eliminated by the ground jury.
- Prohibited substances must not be administered to horses competing in SAEF-affiliated classes.
10. Photography & Media
- By entering, the rider consents to being photographed and videoed during the event.
- Pony Perfection reserves the right to use photographs and video footage for promotional purposes, including social media and the website, without payment or further consent.
- If you do not wish to be photographed, please notify the organiser in writing before the event.
11. Running Orders & Schedule
- The organiser reserves the right to combine, split, or reschedule classes as necessary.
- Running orders are published online and may be updated at any time before the event.
- It is the rider’s responsibility to check the running order and be ready when called.
12. Data Protection
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you confirm that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
